4B Farms Hydroponic Greenhouse
We have built a 44' x 136" hydroponic greenhouse and we are growing multiple different kinds of lettuce, year round, right here in Northwest Kansas!
Hydroponics allows us to use 85% less water and 70% less space than traditional soil farming. This is extremely important in these times of drought and when land has become so expensive. We have plans to use all of our rain water (what there is of it!) to run our cooling wall in the summer.
Our lettuce is sold as living plants. They are all natural, and NON - GMO (there is no such thing as GMO lettuce by the way!). These living plants will stay fresh up to 30 days if kept dry and cool! This makes them a great value compared to normal iceberg lettuce that goes bad within days.
We also have Arugula, an herb that has a slightly peppery taste and is a great addition to salads, sandwiches, pizza, omelets, or quiches just to name a few. Other herbs we have include cilantro, parsley, and basil. We have two different kinds of kale as well. Online ordering is available at www.4bfarmllc.com
We plan to expand this greenhouse and we will be adding tomatoes, cucumbers, and possibly peppers in the near future. Check back often to see what's new!
